Cuspid Exposure

It is not uncommon for the upper canine teeth (cupids) to be impacted or held up from erupting normally.  A cuspid exposure is done to remove the barrier to eruption and facilitate orthodontic movement of the tooth into the arch.  Below is an example of an unerupted cuspid before and after exposure.  .
