The Use of Technology
Dr. Benedon delivers state-of-the-art Periodontal Therapy and Adult Restorative Dentistry using cutting-edge technology.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays provide images in seconds while minimizing radiation exposure to a fraction of what was necessary with conventional films. This is accomplished with the use of a small sensor connected to a computer. The X-rays can be enhanced to improve diagnostic images and printed or e-mailed to other dentists or insurance companies.
iTero® IntraOral Scanner
We are pleased to have introduced another state-of-the-art technology into our practice in December 2019, the iTero® IntraOral Scanner. Using this technology for the past 3 years has changed how we do dentistry.
A compact, handheld wand (camera) is used to digitally map the structure of your teeth and gums using optical technology. Taking 6000 images per second in just minutes, we have an accurate picture of your oral anatomy.
With the iTero® IntraOral Scanner, we can produce digital impressions with instant 3D imaging – no goopy impression material required. Impressions with the iTero® IntraOral Scanner aren’t just more comfortable; they are also more accurate, giving our patients better results every day.
This is truly 21st-century technology; you will marvel at the enhanced comfort and treatment outcomes. Call us to find out more about the iTero® IntraOral Scanner today!
Extraoral Digital Camera
Extraoral Digital Cameras are used to photograph existing conditions to allow greater information transfer between Dr. Benedon and his referring dentists.
PerioLase MVP7
The PerioLase MVP7 laser system is a remarkable tool for minimally invasive gum disease treatment, known as LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure). This advanced laser technology effectively removes bacteria and infected tissue, stimulates tissue regeneration, and promotes periodontal ligament reattachment. Patients experience improved comfort during treatment and faster recovery times than traditional gum surgery.
